So I just discovered Balance and Composure. I listened to "Separation" for like 10 times in a row, found it superb and decided to buy a t-shirt from their merch store (I wouldn't know what to do with the cd/vynil, seems too much like a waste of money). How much does the band get from the merch? I read somewhere that for cds it's like 10% of the price.
Also, on a not necessarily related note: seeing the Mezingers in april (just cos they happen to be in the same festival with Refused). I seem to remember they're kinda worshipped around here. What record shoud I start with? Stuff they'll probably play live...
Menzingers are coming out with a new cd next month. They will probably play a bunch of songs from it. Otherwise, check out Chamberlin Waits and work your way backwards (I think it was punknews' #1 record in 2009/10?).
Start with Chamberlain Waits, then if you like what you hear, get the one that will come out in February (On the Impossible Past). Two near perfect records in my opinion.
I saw RFTC at Peobody's Down Under in like 97 or 98. Didn't seem like too bad of a venue, though not as awesome as the Euclid Tavern or the Blind Lemon
Agreed. This style of music bores me. I stopped caring about it after The Ataris first album in 1997. But I'm sure there will be a lot of high school girls there.
