Warped adds I Am the Avalanche, For Today, The Constellations

Warped Tour has confirmed six more additions for the 2012 tour. They are: Ballyhoo!, For Today, The Constellations, Tonight Alive, Bangups, and I Am The Avalanche.

These additions bring the total participants to 44, including: A Loss For Words, Bayside, Every Time I Die, Living With Lions, Make Do And Mend, Man Overboard, Mayday Parade, Polar Bear Club, Senses Fail, Title Fight and Vanna.

Child Bite announced that the 4 bands will be doing 4 more of those cover 7"s. Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Misfits and Dead Kennedys

Actually same here. I ended up working 50+ hours last week and was wiped out by the time of that show. Ended up falling asleep right when I got home

Why? Because Warped is remaining relevant to the modern musical climate for the sake of their demographic? What do you people expect from this tour? For them to still be boasting the same kind of bands they did almost 20 years ago? And then abruptly go bankrupt when they realize skate punk and hardcore festivals don't have the same draw they did back in the '90s?

For Christ's sake, I don't like this line-up any more than you do, but stop living in the past. Warped has always catered to the contemporary alternative music scene and this line-up indicative of what that has become...if you're complaining about it, then your problem is obviously not with Warped, but with this generation's music and your refusal to understand it.

One off festivals work best for punk.

God, I've even heard my brother talk about how music was better back in the 90s, and that motherfucker willingly listens to Lil' Wayne! With that information in mind, I seriously doubt whether or not he knows what he's talking about or is even that familiar with the music of the 90s. The point is that this cliché gets tossed around so much that even people who have no real knowledge of the music in question are starting to believe it.

As for the entire lineup, I'm actually becoming *gasp* hopeful. There seems to be a conscious effort to get some of the respectable newer pop-punk bands (Title Fight, Man Overboard, etc) on this tour and a few more and it's worth it for me. Hell, even in years past when I was loving Warped there were many, many bands there that I resented to the highest degree. I mean, 3oh3 was on the tour. Unfortunately the last two years had almost nothing to pique my interest. I'm already actually paying attention to these announcements. That's good.

Ultimately, it always was (in the mid 2000s) about getting all of these sort of related scenes together for one big block party. And I really hope that doesn't stop.
