Warped confirms Transit, Wax, Born of Osiris

Warped Tour has confirmed six more additions for the 2012 tour. They are: Born of Osiris, Chunk! No Captain Chunk!, Divided By Friday, Motionless In White, Transit and Wax.

These additions bring the total participants to more than 50, including: A Loss For Words, Bayside, Every Time I Die, Living With Lions, Make Do And Mend, Man Overboard, Mayday Parade, Polar Bear Club, Senses Fail, Tonight Alive, I Am The Avalanche. Title Fight and Vanna

There's no way it's the awesome 90s punk band Wax unless they're doing an Old School stage in California.

Also, fuck California for having that on their Warped Tour dates and the rest of the U.S. never having that.

Also, fuck Warped Tour now anyways. I'm too old and slow for it.

A lot of those bands are expensive, and can't really tour full time so it makes sense it's usually just the SoCal dates, and you can pull the Fears, 22 Jacks, Adolescents. etc out of their retirement homes to do 1-4 shows. But, doing some regionally may be nice. I don't know, maybe you get Gang Green, DYS, AF and Reagan Youth to play a stage on a couple of north east dates, or something.

I talked to Kevin Lyman a few years back about how people don't understand why they would only have "Old School" bands on the California dates and not the whole tour and he said. "What do they expect me to do? Have someone like Don Bolles playing in a parking lot in 100 degree weather in the middle of Kansas City to 6 people? I might as well bury them right there." He was talking then about possibly expanding it to the northeast but they dropped it last year. FEAR played a few days but that was it.

That's such a good point, and so accurate. You're probably only looking at spots on the coast where you'd get people who were actually stoked to see some of these bands. And before anyone gets uppity, yeah, I'm sure there are people everywhere, but not enough to make it worth it.

Warped Tours of the 90s were awesome. NOFX, UL, Lagwagon, Pennywise, Bad Religion, Rancid, etc. Fuck I'm old, I don't even recognize most of these bands.

Imagine that, it's almost like they're trying to, I dunno, cater to a youthful demographic...just like they did back in the '90s. It's too bad they don't waste their money to keep appealing to the aging original crowds who don't go to shows anymore.

Its not really that we don't go to shows, its more that who has the time and energy to go to an all day outdoor show without shade? Kids are perfect for that because they don't know any better

Totally. Honestly, unless it's something REALLY special, I don't go to festivals anymore. They're just not fun for me. But, 10+ years ago, I loved all day shit. Now, I want 2 bands, AC in the summer, a bar, and if possible, comfy seats.

Don't take the word of one disaffected youth to represent a whole generation. I'm sure neither myself nor nobody on this website were the portrait of a typical American youth in terms of pop culture back when we were 18-21. We have no jurisdiction to criticize here.

I'm American. Our geographic perception of Canada is different.

To us, the entirety of Canada is pretty much: The Left Part/Vancouver (where American movies are filmed) > The Middle Part (where Bob & Doug MacKenzie live) > The Right Part/Quebec (where the Frenchies live). Toronto is the only known city in The Right Part where normal people live.

Not necessarily. I've got a slight urge to go since they've got PBC/Living With Lions/Every Time I Die/I Am The Avalanche/Make Do and Mend. Title Fight I wouldn't mind seeing but this would be my 3rd time so they aren't really a deal-breaker for me. My rule of thumb for these kind of things is that there has to be a minimum of 6 bands that I actually care about in order for it to be worth the money/time/sweat/disgust with my fellow demographic since I'm only 22 and the vast majority of people who still go to Warped Tour make me ashamed to be born in the same 3-year timespan as them. Hence I have not gone to a Warped Tour in like 7 years. And the only saving grace for the last time was watching Street Dogs cover Black Flag and seeing The Bouncing Souls.
