Is there anyway they can tour outside of the Northeast, Europe, and California for once? Do some actual Midwest shows for once!

Actually, their most recent release was 'The Radio' (2011), a covers album which this site reported on when it came out. Can't blame anyone for such a mistake: in the time it takes for someone to say "The Slackers' most recent album is ____", they've already released a new one.

Punk- well, okay I know you're joking, but I'll say it anyway. PunkNews always covers news regarding the Slackers, and, as Dave Hillyard once said in an interview with this site, it's all Joe Strummer's fault for making Jamaican music okay for punks to like. Otherwise we'd never have songs where punk rockers brag about listening to someone as genuinely wholesome as Desmond Dekker.

Anyway, I think everyone should accept The Bruce Springstein news stories as well, seeing as they're posted with more frequency than those of the Slackers.

So...if I go back in time to assassinate Joe Strummer, then...ska-punk may have never existed...

...and if ska-punk never existed, it wouldn't have had mainstream success in the mid-'90s...and if it didn't have that success, the American ska scene wouldn't have fallen out and separated in two between the boring "underground" trad-revivalism and the irritating "mainstream" pop ska...and if didn't separate, the scene would have continued to be like it was in the late-'80s...I could still be going to shows every week in a suit and skinny tie, dancing to those sweet 2-Tone/Mod sounds...hmm...

Well, I doubt I'll get the chance to assassinate Joe Strummer, but he DOES have daughters. I guess they could be my targets when I finally snap.

really really a big let down when they played in new york in december. hopefully this run will be better.

The sound at Irving was atrocious for that show.... however the Milford CT date a few weeks earlier was one of the best sets i've ever seen them do... so i'm pretty stoked on this tour.
