I am talking about Fat Mike telling people to vote against Bush. I don't know if he oppeses The goverment per say, but it is messed up that he would influence kids to even vote republican, or democrate. I just don't like it when a person in power tells allof the kids that worship his shitty pop-punk band to go out and vote for either party. Clinton/Gore are just as Curropt as Bush. I just wish that someone like fat mike would have come out and said vote for Harry W. Brown, or Nadar. At least that would be a step in the right direction.

I think you are missing the point here. Fat Mike hates Bush and wants him ousted from the oval office, hence punkvoter.com is formed to create political awareness within punk youth, an audience he can reach and influence. All he wants is for them to vote against Bush. He doesn't care which of the other candidates you vote for, and I really don't think he should. It seems like doing this sort of thing is in fact promoting change while at the same time fostering political awareness that may one day help the whole country as more individuals vote from an informed position.

When I see what is going on in the world IE: A war for oil,Killing innocent afganistans in the name of "terror",low economy, and no jobs. I blame both parties. I really do not know what Fat Mike thinks will be the benefit of removing Bush from office. I think that another president might be less likely to have a knee jerk reaction to everything, but I agree with you that it is hopeless to vote for either of the big parties. Third party would be the way to go to get anything done in my opinion, but Fat Mike shouldn't be telling anyone that. Everyone has to find out for themselves, become informed, and I think that is just his point here. I think it is great that he is encouraging people to vote in the first place.

Eh, I respect your thoughts and opinions. But Fat Mike and NOFX have had political stuff for awhile. They released "The PMRC Can Suck on This", which was a direct stab at Tipper Gore and her associates' attempts at censoring music, and that was released in the 80's, if memory serves me correctly. Plus other songs on their full-lengths have been political, as well as "The Decline". Anti-Flag didn't release "Underground Network" until early 2001. Besides, I do like Anti-Flag a lot, but they really don't have any substance to their songs other than "Fuck America!", and the same goes to their live shows, from what I've seen at least, it could be different elsewhere. I just think other bands have a much better political message. But anyway, I'm just happy someone is trying to take an active, positive stand and is trying to open others to different ideas.
