The Acacia Strain sign to Rise Records

Massachusetts' The Acacia Strain have signed to Rise Records, the label announced. The band is set to release their Rise debut in October of this year.

The band most recently released Wormwood in 2010.

I don't know how I missed the souls signing to rise but it makes me sad to think they are there. I thought side one would be a good fit for them after they left epitaph..

The licensed their first two to BYO and when the licenses ran out, they released them on their own label which was then signing other acts while they signed to Epitaph. I would've thought they would've just gone back to Chunksaah as their distribution is just as good as that of Rise Records.

Their distro is in no way shape or form as good as Rise's. Rise puts out some bad music, but, to compare Chunksaah to Rise would be like comparing yourself to Lance Armstrong because you ride your bike 5 miles a day. Not even fucking close.

These guys are from around where I grew up. Whenever I go back to visit, I'll often seen their local fans and friends around and it's like 2001 never ended. Slouchy jeans, studded belts, big gauges in their ears, black hoodies, bad tattoo choices, long sideburns and gelled up hair. It's bizarre.

This band was in the "Punk/ska" section at a store I was in. Almsot flipped a shit.

A friend asked what genre they were then.
Another friend said "Warped Tour".

This is like when you watch Intervention and the family begs the person to go to treatment and they finally agree to go and vow get their life back on track and they play that lame acoustic music and the family members are all crying tears of joy and then it says "Rise Records left treatment after 9 days...and started smoking meth again".
