Geoff Rickly of Thursday performed a version of Thursday favorite "Understanding in a Car Crash" while performing as part of his 90-minute solo set at Gunner's Run in Philadelphia, PA. The The 21+ show was announced as a 'Best of Thursday' performance, focusing on material from Geoff's band which split last year.

Geesh. "Understanding..." is an incredible song. "Full Collapse" is an even more incredible album. Whatever this is, is not incredible. These songs don't translate well into this half acoustic whatever that was.

This is kind of a drag. I know Mr. Rickly has more creative energy than to rehash a project he buried 3 months ago. However, perhaps this will be a gate way to something great.

I was always bummed that Thursday didn't go with an "only Thursday" schtick... only play shows or do interviews on Thursdays, wait til Thursdays to release albums or material, only tour with Blue Monday and Dead By Wednesday, shit like that... these are the things I think of when I wait for shit to render/export.

geoff and thursday...always a classic. lost steam at the end but full collapse...watt...not to mention, waiting..

agreed, last couple albums floundered each only having a few good songs. Full Collapse was a classic for me.

I felt the same, but 'No Devolucion' has really grown on me in the last few months. 'Common Existence' is still very average though.

I'll agree on the video though, not a very good performance, does not translate well to stripped down.

Having said that, I've always gotten the impression that Geoff is a really nice and thoughtful guy. I just think his music sucks.

I used to not be huge on them until I showed up at one of their hometown shows at Starland Ballroom like 5 hours early for some reason and he walked us in to hang out watch them soundcheck til doors opened and they blew me away. Played all songs not on the setlist they played that night so that was a huge plus. All of them are super nice guys.
