us that The New Breed from Halifax, NS,
have announced they've signed with Longshot Records
from Vancouver, BC. The coast to coast partnership will begin with the "Port City Rebels" EP, containing 8
tracks of Celtic infused punk showing their East Coast roots. Two of the songs have already made their way to the
Union Label Group's newest compilation
"Mayday!" (look for a review soon). To celebrate The New Breed are giving
away free stuff from their back catalogue of releases and merch. Check out their
website for more info.

That Mayday! compilation has a street-punk cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" (I can't remember which band did it). I'm not one who usually likes punk covers (most of them being dumbass renditions of previously good songs) but its suprising how well that song works. adam 1+ Reply
