Man, between this, Green Day and No Doubt just today, I can practically hear the PunkNews Facebook fans screaming about what constitutes "punk" from my window-sill. Sounds like douchebaggery afoot! :D
No offense to the Boss, but I'll be sitting this one out. I don't believe I've ever actually heard of his albums in full. I fail punk...again. :(
Ugh, I was just *at* Target, I don't want to have to go back again. That heavily tattooed female cashier had it out for me the second I stepped in the store. >:[
I've at least heard a large handful of The Boss's singles, plus I saw his sister Pamela in the 'Sleepaway Camp' sequels. That's got to count enough that I can put it off for a little while longer. I've got a lot of stuff on my plate as it is!
I have this kneejerk reaction that he belongs. He's blue-collar deep down, under the arena-rock patina. He writes about real people and real social problems (at least sometimes). He inspired a lot more indie bands that are featured here than you might imagine. He digs Bad Religion and other punk bands. He belongs in the way Keith Richards belongs. Their interviews are better than their songs, and are punk as fuck.
in all seriousness this is a little ridiculous. people visit this site to read news about punk bands. if I wanted to read news about bruce springsteen I'd go to the appropriate website.
He's going to KENTUCKY but not Texas?
