I like it. Feels old school. Turn it up loud. It sounds like 1995. Good shit.

Am I the only one who heard this and kept expecting "Don't wanna be an American idiot!"?

This is obviously ten times better than their new single. It's still not great, in fact if this was on Nimrod it'd be a filler song. However, the very fact that this COULD be on Nimrod means they're on the right track with at least a few of these new songs. It's also better than anything on their last turd of an album (except maybe Murder City, the ONLY song on 21CB for which I have a soft spot).

Tre spent that entire video looking like he was trying to figure out what the hell he was doing there.

I don't like it, and I'm the fool who's still optimistic about Green Day in the 21st century. I like GD exploring different rock textures and was excited by the prospect of a "power-pop" album, but both musically and lyrically this feels too derivative of their '90s material almost to the point where you can hear Billie Joe saying "let's write a song that sounds like our old stuff so people think we don't suck anymore". It's better than the last single, granted, but it's not anywhere near as immediate as the songs off the albums they're trying to emulate here. However, comparing this to the last single, I'm at least holding out hope that the record will be an eclectic mix of styles and that the sum will be greater than its parts.

There are parts in it that reminded me of Weasel (a la the Four on the Four EP). First time I've ever felt that way about a GD song.

Pretty badass. Their deal with the Devil is still going strong. Stoked for new tunes.
thelastlivingkid (August 1, 2012)
This will probably be the first track, which will transition into a slower song... .__.
