I saw this tour the other week. I was impressed by everyone and was really excited to see Such Gold play. Handguns impressed me too as I thought their record was not the best thing I ever heard.
Your pictures are really nice, but that font at the begging of the blog is kind of an eye soar. Constructive criticism, keep up the good work.
I changed the actual typeface and made the font straight white. Check it out and let me know what you think. Any criticism that is justified is worth hearing.
I think that looks better, but once again its personal preference. I think you are a pretty strong writer too, so you have that going for you. The only other suggestion I could justify would be to change the colour of the hyperlinks to something less flamboyant. Also, would it be possible to arrange the photos into rows? I think it might be more user friendly if you could arrange the photos into row. What I mean is, right now you have one column with a ton of photos and it makes the page real long. I hope that makes sense....
That definitely makes since. I should look into the rows thing. Once I can figure out a good photo hosting professional website, I am going to do that, which lends itself to the whole row idea. Thanks again for the kind words.
What are you talking about, dickhead? Listen to Bring Out You're Dead and Matchbook on the live album then you'll know what I'm fucking talking about. Suck my dick, asshole!
Has anyone here ever actually won one of these contests? In the possible 10 years I've been coming here, I've never known any poster to either win one or at least announce that they won one. Something smells fishy around here...if I were to bottle said scent, I'd probably call it "Eau de embezzlement", if you know what I mean.
I think something similar has been posted multiple times, and people have indeed came forward and said they won certain contests. I've entered tons of contests over the last 11or so years and never won anything.
I saw them yesterday in Montreal. I'm not a huge Strung Out fan, but since I've never seen them live, I thought it was worth the 30$.
Honestly, one of the best punk-rock show I've ever seen. They were filming the entire show for a live DVD, people were going ape shit. There were more than a hundred stage dives, 8 year old kids body surfing, great performance by the band. Loved it.
Contest doesn't end until after the show date I'd be able to go to. Bummer.
Saw them last year or whenever it was they toured with WATU and Rufio and they were amazing. I might drive up to the Philly show if there are still tickets.
They toured with Rufio again?! They did that 10 years ago too... It was Strung Out, Rise Against, Posion The Well and Rufio. I still remember it because of how odd/interesting the lineup was.
Yeah, it was We are the Union, Mute, Rufio and Strung Out. I'm not above admitting that I thought Rufio was still awesome. I could probably still listen to Perhaps, I Suppose... and sing/slurr all the words. 18 year old me was stoked.
I kinda wanna see Strung Out, especially for the guaranteed STWB and TBD setlist, but I'm pretty sure I've seen them play all of the songs on those albums over the years anyway. 3 hours is a long drive and I don't know that I could convince anyone to come with me.
You should probably go. 3 hours to see not one but TWO records you really like is _totally_ worth it. Hell, i've flown across half the world to see one-off reunion/record shows and I've never been dissapointed.
It's actually pretty special to see a record getting played in order if it's an absolute favorite of yours. If you're not a huge fan of it, it comes off as stale,, but if you're a fan you'll be ridiculously excited.
I'm not a fan of Deftones, but I saw them a few years back ('05?!) and they played their first record in its entirety _as an encore_. Imagine if one of your favorite bands would do that without announcing it. Holy shit.
It was worth it to go to this. I know I already posted it, but I am going to again. I shot the Seattle stop of this tour.

You should go look at it.
