Anti-Defamation League sends letter of apology to Hatebreed

After erroneously associating the band with white supremacists and then hiding their mistake, the Anti-Defamation League sent a letter of apology to Hatebreed.

Magnanimously, the letter recognizes that Hatebreed is not in fact a "purveyor of white supremacist, racist ideology." The band responded with more politeness than one would expect from guys who recorded a song called "Destroy Everything" saying simply: "Thank you Lonnie & ADL for the letter of apology to us & our fans."

Well, it sums up the problems with American Mainstream Media with the phrase "opinion piece". The news is often full of misinformation based on opinions with little facts to back them up.

Also, wouldn't it be ironic if the members of Hatebreed sued the ADL for Defamation?

This story is funny in its own right, but the cropping of that picture makes it look like the cheetah's having an introspective conversation with itself and for some reason I find that strangely hilarious.

Cheetah, tiger, what-the-f***-ever. I always get that comic confused with 'Bloom County', anyways. I never read comic strips as a kid, so I don't have that kind of memory.

Glad they apologized, but I gotta say this is sort of what I expect from them.

It's an organization with good goals that frequently loses track of that. I've never been able to sit with how hostile they are to Palestinians or any group sympathetic to them (especially the ADL's leadership). They got a pretty spotty track record supporting Muslims and Arabs in general in America. I mean, the irony in an anti-defamation group labeling anyone who criticizes Israeli policies is huge.

But at least they apologized for this mistake. Sort of.

Yup, no organization has done more to boost anti-Semitism than the ADL. When you reflexively attack anyone who dares to suggest that perhaps Israel shouldn't participate in apartheid or state terror it sort of hurts your legitimacy.
