Converge have unveiled a new video for the song "Aimless Arrow." The song is set to appear on their upcoming full-length, All We Love We Leave Behind, due out October 9, 2012.
I see the incredibly weak and stupid point you're trying to make here, if it wasn't for the fact that pretty much every single Converge album gains universal critical praise
Wasn't really trying to make any point at all. I really like Converge. (Haven't yet listened to all of their albums though.) Didn't mean to offend anyone. Just feels to me like this band has an almost cult-like following. That's all.
But it's not like Axe to Fall was some HUGE departure for the band or something. It might make sense if it was someone's least favorite or whatever, but it doesn't really make sense to me either if someone LOVES the other albums and HATES Axe to Fall.
dude axe to fall was much stronger than you fail me, or no heroes. those albums were definitely the weakest converge albums, though still so much better than most heavy music.
Holy shit, it actually sounds like a song!!!
(Keep in mind, I haven't heard anything else they've put out on Epitaph, so I have no idea if they actually started to sound like an actual band since their signing. But, their pre-Epitaph days are hilarious, and awful).
It's not this comment specifically, it's the fact that this type of comment gets made on every single damn converge story on this site, and every time, it's the same user with that by-the-numbers org core musical taste without a fucking clue.
Oh, please open my mind, oh wise one. May I take a seat in your bullshit course?
Converge, to me, is fucking garbage. The members of the band, minus that sorry excuse for a vocalist, are talented as fuck, but I believe they're just wasting it (or, before Epitaph, like I said prior). It's not music... it's fucking noise.
However, I listened to this new song with an open mind, and you know what... I didn't hate it at all. I even said "holy shit! It actually sounds like a song!". In my book, that's a compliment to this story... a story about the actual video / song. So, going off of this, I actually may check out the album it's on.
Also, I believe I've only made a similar comment about Converge ONCE before.
If you had read my comment, you illiterate bag of gay assholes, you would have seen that I said I was not talking about you specifically, just generally.
It's "noise" to you, because you listen to pop music. No suprise, metal sounds like noise to my grandma too. Once again, grab a fucking clue and listen to something outside your linear realm of musical comforts.
I don't think that Jane Doe was on Epitaph and that is regarded by many as their best.
If you like this song (not sure if you do or if you just wanted to poke fun at the band) you should definitely check out their last three. All are excellent in my opinion.
Same here. I believe I've made one negative comment about Converge before, and this Tumor asshole appears to have taken a magic marker and sprawled our names across his walls to hunt us down.
The song appears to be trending towards the soundscape-y stuff like in "You Fail Me", and the Supermachiner side-project from Jacob Bannon and Kurt Ballou. If this album becomes more melodic (while as intense as "Axe to Fall"), it really should be a more interesting album.
Stoked on the You Fail Me vibes, "Last Light" is one of my favourite Converge songs and this sounds similar.
