Neurosis have posted a stream of the six minute opener to their upcoming album, Honor Found In Decay. It's due out October 30, 2012.

2nd. most likely every single band i have listened to this week would cite neurosis as an influence yet i own nothing by them and don't know what to do about that

Been listening to Neurosis for 10 years and my favorite is probably Eye of every storm, or the Sun that never sets.

I would say start at Through Silver In Blood and go forwards from there. Stuff before that can be cool too, but IMO this is where Neurosis really started to evolve. Times Of Grace is my favorite. All of it rules.

Pain of Mind and Word as Law are my favorites. They are a great place to start.

Depends on what you want, they have been a band for 26 years. Their early stuff is very punk (Pain of Mind). I will list it by album style;

Start with 'A Sun That Never Sets'. I feel it's a little more accessible than their other stuff. But maybe that's just me.

But really, you can't go wrong with Neurosis. All their albums are awesome.

I first heard Through Silver in Blood songs on a mixtape a buddy made off me, and this was right before Times of Grace came out, love this band! Other than Sabbath, Neurosis are my favorite heavier band, they can do no wrong.
