Videos: Street Dogs: “GOP”

Street Dogs have released a new music video, for their song "GOP." The song was originally written and recorded as "GLC" by Menace back in 1978, and has been "modernized" by the band with new lyrics. "GOP" will be released on a 7-inch by Pirate's Press Records on Election Day, November 6, 2012. The band has also launched a project to get this song "out to the masses," and is recruiting volunteers at their site.

I saw these guys live and liked what I heard, checked them out on MySpace.....still a solid band yadayada.

One of the consistently great live bands out there right now. My favorite DKM stuff was with Mike McColgan anyway, so it made perfect sense that the Street Dogs would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I see them whenever I can, can't wait for the new album.

I don't remember either I know the band in question opened for the mad caddies but I can't recall which band it was. I keep wanting to say rise against but I think that's because they're the only band I've ever seen open for.the caddies.

I dunno what any of this has to do with Justin Beiber. His music is kinda lame, but my gf likes it. The only good thing is that when she listens to it, she wants to make out more, so I guess I kinda like him for that.

Street Dogs are a really good band, but for a group that triumphs the "working class," they're kinda dicks. Rock star egos aplenty in this band.

Oh, I don't doubt that they appreciate their fans and support. All bands do. I've just met them personally a couple of times and they come across as very egotistical and "too good" for the local/regional bands they're playing with.

I don't like to judge touring bands too harshly when I think they're dicks. I know that life on the road causes people to become jaded and fed up with outsiders. It happens and just because a band members act like dicks on one night, it doesn't mean that they're dicks all the time.

Still though - the best rule of thumb is to just be gracious to those who help your band or take interest in your band.

My band got some flexi postcards made from Pirates Press, and just so everyone knows...they don't work. Even if you press 20,000 of them.
