I actually own that Dogpiss album but haven't listened to it yet. Based on the only Dogpiss song I know ("Erik Sandin's Stand-In"), Dogjaw sounds nothing like Dogpiss. Neither Dogjaws, be it the Olympia, WA Dogjaw or the Ridgeley, WV Dogjaw (that I'm in).

What is with Less Than Jake's horrible re-issue artwork? Has the recent obsession with neon ever been addressed by the band members? I've heard nothing but negative or indifferent feedback from both fans and non-fans alike on the subject and I'm wondering why they're persisting with that design aesthetic.

You know me, I hate to complain, but though I understand it has no bearing on the band or the music itself (which I like, to clarify), it's just ugly to look at. And now Roger is probably going to come on here asking if I could do better, and in this case, I probably could by choosing a different filter on PhotoShop.

I can't even think of kids who were wearing neon 12-15 years ago when I was the same age.
You obviously haven't been to Canberra, looking different or wearing neon colours here will get you banished quick smart!

I've yet to hear the Masked Intruder album, even though they killed it live when I saw them with Teenage Bottlerocket. HWM will most likely be on my list at the end of the year as well.

It's Blake Schwarzenbach's post-Jawbreaker, post-Jets to Brazil, post-Thorns of Life, project. So that should give you some idea. Their 7-inch is pretty great, definitely worth checking out if you like any of the bands mentioned above.

Godspeed for me. Converge, Swans, Propagandhi, Leonard Cohen, and Tim Barry have gotten a lot of plays as well. There have been some albums that I haven't picked up yet (P.O.S., Neurosis) and a few more coming out soon (Deftones) that may make the list as well.
