Exclusive Videos: Banner Pilot: Live at Fest 11

In the first of many videos from this year's Fest 11 in Gainesville, FL we're pleased to bring you two songs from Banner Pilot's performance at 8 Seconds.

Included are the songs "Central Standard" from 2009's Collapser and "Division Street" from last year's Heart Beats Pacific .

Easily the best weekend of my life. They played a great set! Polar Bear Club, Dead To Me and Propagandhi were the highlights of the weekend.

pretty sure one of them has a dui, which was why they had to cancel at pouzza a couple years ago.

WOAH, this sounds like shit!
BTW, this is a good example of why I won't go to Fest.... Spend over a thousand bucks to go to shitty Florida for a weekend with assloads of sweaty college kids crammed all over singing every word so loud that I can't even hear the fucking band, when I can see Banner Pilot here in SF on a Tuesday night for 8 bucks and there be 15-20 people in attendance, and half the crowd could give a shit.. call me anti-social.

In all fairness, most of the sound I'm picking up is from the monitors, so you'd probably hear the vocals better from the crowd.

That said, I hear what you're saying. I'm in my early 30's, and have been over getting all "sardine-core" in the crowd for many years. One of the reasons I have a camera in front of me at most shows.

I think theres a comfortable medium, its fun to recklessly sing along and feel the energy of a crowd, as long as you can hear the band well. I cant remember being at a show where the crowd drowned the band out to the point where it bothered me. Live recordings are normally crappy if they re not professionally done.

Well I'm 34 and I still love a packed venue and if it's a band I truly love, you can bet your ass that I'll be singing along the whole damn night. I find it very cathartic.

it helps a bit if its a 21 plus show these days. I saw alk trio open for my chemical romance and felt wierd being there cause of the tenny boppers. Then saw them later on the "Early music for eiree people" tour, where they played " Goddammit" front to back, 21 plus, and felt right at home.
