Tegan and Sara have released a trailer for their upcoming album, Heartthrob. The record is due out January 29, 2013.

why is this shit being advertised on punknews? The only thing worse would be punknews promoting the new Bieber album. This is just terrible music that has no relation to punk what so ever.

Obviously I am understanding that someone is going to write "then why are you posting?". Although they are a terrible enough to make me want to post in protest of this talentless heep of shit.

Aw dude I never realized that song was about them. I always assumed it was about two women from an actual punk band. And I can never remember their names unless I see a picture of them, too.

PunkNews covers a wide variety of genres, and always has. I don't mind if they cover this style of music, but the raging erection this site/particular editors sport for Tegan and Sara bugs me, if only because they're really not all that good.

...then again, if I didn't expect to see daily coverage of crappy music, I wouldn't be visiting a site called PunkNews. /obviousSkibzism

Tegan and Sara (esp their older stuff) has a lot of punky songs. Or, songs with punk influence if you care. And if it bothers you so much, why in the hell did you bother to click-through, read and comment on the damn "advertisement" (post).

Why is this Punknews? Because people who read this site don't only listen to Bad Religion, Rancid, Anti-Flag and what have you. Hunter Burgan of AFI and Matt Sharp of the Rentals and formerly of Weezer were their studio bassists for a few records, so these girls are pretty tied to punk music. Literally the only thing in common they have with Justin Bieber is that they're both Canadian. You don't see them all over MTV, advertising to pre-teens, and topping the same charts as JB. Anyone who can't find sentiment in their music has proven that they haven't given them a good listen. Their catalogue is so varied that even the most elitist music forum writer couldn't help but find at least one song to be the slightest bit catchy.

That being said I am really excited for this record to come out.
