Eminor7 has posted an acoustic version of Greg Barnett from The Menzingers performing "Casey" off of 2012's On the Impossible Past. The album was voted #1 by both the Punknews Staff and by the Punknews Readers for 2012. The band hits the road this month with Hot Water Music and La Dispute.

For me, it's a toss-up between Burn After Writing and Mexican Guitars... Cool to see that like everyone has a different favorite song off this one, sign of a good album.

I don't think they're a good album band, more like a good song band, kind of like Gaslight Anthem. They have 4 really good songs on the new album, but also some really bad ones. In my opinion at least.

Kills me that this tour isn't coming to Houston... In the year and a half I've been here for college, there've been like three worthwhile shows (and one was just Nothington with some amazingly shitty local bands opening). Gahhh. At least I got to see HWM and Gaslight's tour, albeit supporting Rise Against... I'd probably take HWM/Menzingers over HWM/Gaslight-playing-mostly-stuff-from-Handwritten, though.

When I saw Gaslight it was a pretty solid mix of new and old songs. No "Senor and the Queen" which was kind of a bummer, but oh well.
And there were two old women behind me insisting that The '59 Sound was their first album and just...ugh.

Ohhhh no, hahaha that's awful. I mean nobody in Houston seemed to any any idea what the fuck was going on for HWM and Gaslight's sets, it was a lot of 16 year old emo kids who got there early for Rise Against standing in the front not caring, which drove me nuts. Gaslight certainly wasn't bad, but they played a huge portion of their set off of American Slang and Handwritten (my least and second-least favorite albums of theirs, respectively). Ending with Baba O'Riley was fucking AWESOME, though...
