Filter posts free Descendents covers album for Milo's birthday

Shortly after their interview with the band, Filter has put together a tribute compilation in celebration of the 50th birthday of Descendents' frontman (and biochemist) Milo Aukerman. The 13-song compilation features tracks covered by FIDLAR), Mike Watt and the Missing Men, Henry Clay People The Bronx, Edsel, Good Riddance, Tijuana Panthers, Milo Greene, TEEN, Bobby Birdman, Thrillionaire, Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses, and YACHT.

Ugh, there are some REALLY annoying electronic tracks. Dance party shit that just completely miss the essence of the originals. (I'm waiting for this tame indie dance party shit trend to die already.) Good Riddance's "Sour Grapes" just sounds like the original. I found Mike Watt's version of "Kabuki Girl" to be annoying. The Bronx totally dropped the ball on the talking parts on "Catalina" and "All" is an almost 4 minute drone, which based on my username you might think I would like. I don't.

Good Riddance is the only track I could make it through entirely. Even Mike Watt wasn't doing it for me.

Can anyone think of a Descendents cover that's better than the original other than the Voodoo Glow Skulls' cover of I'm Not A Loser (best Descendents track ever!) or Face To Face's cover of Bikeage?

Happy birtnday Milo .and love the mo pic Chris sharys art is amazing .but the only band who should cover the Descendents is ALL . Im a huge fan of bill Stevenson and Descendents even have Milo tattooed on my thumb the songs on here were terrible versions of some of my favorite songs ,I couldnt even get through the versions of these songs .I swear alot of the bands that say Descendents made a impact on them musically ,have never even heard them 4thumbs down this comp is crap
