Paper and Plastick Records launches subscription series

Paper and Plastick is launching a new, free digital subscription series. The label is offering a new digital EP or LP release every week if you provide your email address.

No word on which bands are participating in the series, but you can sign up here.

I have a few. every time I've ordered digital from them I've gotten shafted. I foolishly gave them three chances over several different months. each time I never received the downloads despite being charged. I contacted them through email and Twitter but never got a response. I'll not order from them again.

Never had any issue with digital but actual physical records have been very delayed. Example: I ordered the Blacklist Royals full length and it never came. I saw them at a show about 4 months later and they were selling the record. I mentioned that I had already ordered it and they said there were all kinds of delays with pressing the record. Mine came about 2 weeks later.Same thing happened with the Dopamines record.

There is a simple solution. Don't allow people to order stuff unless P+P have the product to send out. The worst part is that they don't communicate anything so you are just sort of waiting. Maybe they have gotten better but I wouldn't know because I only buy their stuff digitally or at shows.

talk to Landmines. it took PP over a year to put out that record and even longer to pay the people who helped put it together.

also, every time i've ordered a record, which has been awhile because i got sick of dealing with the label, it was lost, warped, or fucked up in some way.

Heard lots of stories of warped records. I've seen on facebook, as well as heard directly from bands, that they're incredibly unhappy. Delays, non-communicative relationship, the people who did the art not getting paid, CDs showing up instead of LPs even though the label said they weren't doing CDs, not showing numbers to bands and so on and so forth.
