Funny or Die has a elaborate video in which it imagines an alternate world where The Postal Service's Jimmy Tamborello held open auditions for the vocalist position in the duo alongside a jaded Sub Pop Records exec. Some of the candidates include a self-parodying version of Tom Delonge from Blink-182, Duff McKagan, Helmet's Page Hamilton, Foo Fighters and Sunny Day Real Estate's Nate Mendel, comedian Mark Maron and many more.

Wow, good thing this is 9 minutes long. You really need that chunk of time to let one joke simmer.

Nate Mendel is actually a super funny guy. I wish they gave him more lines. Overall I liked it. Although I don't really like postal service.

Jimmy Tamborello is actually pretty cool. He has a show on Dublab.com Great online station from LA. Got me into a lot of different stuff.

If this had started with DeLonge and ended at Page Hamilton it might have had a better chance at being hilarious.

Nice idea, didn't work; Tom Delonge is funny, Nate Mendel is cool, Duff McKagan's autobiography is awesome.
closmurda (March 5, 2013)
Did was awesome! People that don't find this funny just don't get it. Weird Al was amazing!
LiveFastDiarrhea (March 5, 2013)
Oddly enough Weird Al's accordion bit was my favorite part... oh well

Yeah this is one of those things where the idea of it is funnier than the actual execution/finished product.

I was ready to hate tom delonge in this, but he wasn't bad...because he didn't sing |

Solid (if not cliched) idea, but overall poorly executed. Moby was the only time I actually laughed. Still, I like the effort.
