Billboard has premiered another song from Alkaline Trio's forthcoming record My Shame is True, which is due out April 2, 2013 via Epitaph Records. The song is "The Temptation of St. Anthony" and you can click Read More to hear it.

I stayed in Wicker Park when my friends and I met from VA, MI, central IL, and MN to go to Riot Fest, we found an apartment to rent for the weekend and all stayed there. It was very yuppie, so in other words....nice.

The songs I've heard from this record so far remind me of Good Mourning. It's no From Here to Infirmary, but definitely a step in the right direction imho.

Same here, along with all 5 new songs really, kinda dissappointed with this after Bill Stevenson did such an awesome job with OWTH. Not that it's his fault though. This whole record sounds boring to me and I've been a fan forever. I thought they were headed back in the right direction with This Addiction, but now it looks they're going backwards again. I swear I was cool until that Rise Against track!

See, I don't even get that comparison. I'm not really a fan of This Addiction and to me it was them trying to combine a "Goddamnit" vibe with top 40 pop songwriting, with mixed results, but at least it sounded like them. From the several songs we've heard so far from MSIT, it's the first time they don't really sound like themselves. It's flaccid songwriting and Matt's just throwing in "spooky" buzzwords at this point.

If you at all consider yourself a fan of the band, you have to understand the similarities between the songs we've heard from My Shame and Good Mourning. My Shame sounds like a more radio-friendly Good Mourning. Dan's songs especially sound like what his tracks from GM.

That's what I've been getting from these songs, a Good Mourning (which is my favorite Trio album)vibe. To me, this song is the first one released that sounds remotely like This Addiction.

I have no problems tearing a shit band like Fall Out Boy a new one on this site or seeing others do so.... But it really PISSES me off when people just bash a stellar band like Alk3 on here. Fuck, so many classic bands get dissed on here because maybe they've matured or they aren't cool in YOUR stupid hipster circle or whatever.
