"For the first time ever, Dying Wish Records has brought together a group of bands from all over the world to pay tribute to Jawbreaker - all on one album. The Dying Wish Records Jawbreaker Tribute features 17 brand new, unreleased, Jawbreaker cover tracks from some of today's most popular, up-and-coming, and legendary bands. With this album we aim to inspire and expose a new generation of fans to the music of Jawbreaker. Bands on this comp: Name Taken, Bayside, Kill Your Idols, Riddlin Kids, Face to Face, Duvall, Travoltas, The Aeffect, Fall Out Boy , Big Wig, For Amusement Only, Sparta, The Reunion Show, Drawn From Endings, Fifteen, and Counterfit? get more info and check out the tracklist at Dying Wish Records. Whats strange to me is that I think they may be involved, because if you look at the news brief, it says 17 song tribute record. only 16 songs are listed and on the dying wish site, it lists brand new as one of the bands involved. I recall hearing a long time ago, they were going to do a cover of accident prone so maybe its appearing on this comp or another, but it just seems strange to me.

That was for another planned Jawbreaker tribute album, that never got off the ground, if I remember correctly. But I do know that they Brand New did record their cover of "Accident Prone" so they might just use that on this album.

I'm surprised that there isn't a contribution from The*Ataris. They've covered a few of their songs before, and Kris even has a Jawbreaker tattoo, and Blake's old amp. Also, nobody did "chesterfield kings". This album will still prtobably rock however. - Reynolds.

I'm really disappoined that the Weakerthans' aren't on this one. The Jet Black Records compilation had them covering "Kiss the Bottle", which would have been amazing. I'm curious how Sparta's cover will sound. I had no idea those guys were into Jawbreaker. -p@

i'll probably buy this. does anyone know anything about this Drawn from Endings band? Jet Black is one of my favorite jawbreaker tracks, so i'm hoping they do it justice. travoltas, sparta, aeffect, and face to face should be good stuff.

I wouldn't have expected Sparta to cover a tune - but what do you want? Metallica playing a ripping version of Sea Foam Green? Or maybe you'd like to hear Boat Dreams covered by Reel Big Fish? Thing is tribute albums are lame anyways, the originals are usually far better. Anyone hear the Weezer tribute? Enough said.

When you know Blake has admitting to not really seeing the full beauty/dignity/motive/whatever for tributes, why would you pursue? Some of those tracks might be pretty fun, but just by principle, I'd think you'd want to be 'cool' and duck out of such an album and earn scene points with Blake. Come on, this is Blake.

Can anyone name a good tribute album? I'm having trouble remembering one...if there any. I always thought the originals are far more worthy of your time. Especially in the case of Jawbreaker. What about Weezer's tribute? Ramones? Duran Duran? The list goes on...not impressive in the least
