Tours: Thursday back out on the road with Rival Schools, more

Thursday is hitting the road for most of June, playing a few warmup shows [one with labelmates Autopilot Off] before the Field Day Festival in New York. The band is then taking to the streets at the end of June for a fortnight of shows, some with labelmates Rival Schools, as well as with This Day Forward, Murder By Death, Every Time I Die, and Black Widows. The whole tour culminates with the band's performance at this year's Hellfest on July 5th. Click READ MORE for the skinny.

Man, these are Rival Schools' first shows in god knows how long. It's nice to know they're still alive, they're a great band. I just hope their new guitarist can do all that Ian Love did live, cause that guy was a wizard. -Scott

All I keep asking myself is "Why Grand Rapids?" Not that I can complain, because its cheaper to make the hour trek to GR than to make the 2 hour trek to Chicago for shows.

Yeah, but its extremely rare that a band stops in Kalamazoo. But tomorrow night is one of those rarities when Q and Not U comes into town. I'll be there.

I live in the middle of nowhere, and there are never shows in Kalamazoo so I'm stuck always driving at least an hour when I wanna go to a show, I wasnt really complaining, I just found that odd that Thursday would play in GR. Same with Hot Hot Heat.

taking back sunday doesn't sound anything like thursday. you must be confused because they were both on victory. taking back sunday sounds more like brand new. and thursday sounds more like old deftones.

uhhhhh, old deftones? uhhhhhh... i have no idea what you are talking about, they sound like nothing off of Adrenaline or the Like Linus era demos. Deftones would have slain Thursday back in the day, but now they're pretty comparable. Tear...

you wha!?! deftones have just got better and better as a band as they have aged, they were good @ the Adreneline era but white pony and self titled are uncomparable to any other band. The only reason these bands can be put together in a similar group is because they have both created there own unique sound that many other bands are trying to mimic. So if your following that argument, Glassjaw are also really similar, as are mogwai etc, etc.

What are you all talking about? TBS definitely has a Thursday complex. Look at how Adam presents himself, starting with the short bleached hair to his long flopping black mop. And if you go to a TBS show and shout out anything Thursday related, he'll get really really pissed off. He's really touchy with it, because he lusts Thursday and relaizes that he's silly and inadequate.

Thursday = pretty good music... pretty bad vocals.... I know that will piss a lot of people of but it's so true. Listen to the new song on the new little live disc and the song starts out really fucking good and then the singer comes in and it's ass ass ass.

not to start any rumors but i'm wondering if thursday will still be doing this tour. according to those cool kids over at absolutepunk.net geoff got sick at the Poughkeepsie show and apparently stopped the set and a few minutes later an ambulance showed up. i tried going to their message board to see anything about it but it isn't working for me. maybe something official will be posted soon if it's serious. i should be driving up for the SC show. if thursday doesn't show up at least i'll see rival schools. i hope geoff is ok though.
