'We've got nothing better to do...'

In some quasi-news-that-amused-Adam, the episode of Futurama that aired tonight, titled "Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV," prominently featured the Black Flag song "TV Party." The "Damaged" recording of the song played during the episode while the end credits featured the characters of the show singing the classic punk tune.

Not related to this news, but what you just said reminded me of something that happened today. I was driving through some shitty little town, and I was stopped at a railroad crossing, when all of the sudden I noticed this crazy guy sitting on the sidewalk. He was yelling at no one. "What are you waiting for? Do it! I know! You aren't good enough! You can't! ASSHOLE! You can't do it! Do it! Asshole! You haven't seen it! You can never see it! ASSHOLE! You know what asshole, you're an asshole!" So yeah, that's my story.

It's not every day that a Black Flag song is played on TV. That's why it's newsworthy. I also found it pretty interesting and most likely wouldn't have watched the show. Now I know that there will be a Black Flag song on it I will.

well, creator Matt Groening is a big fan of the Ramones, they were even on the Simpson's like in 1993, so, it doesn't suprise me when he plays Black Flag in one of his shows

Aw I remeber that...those were the days...Stephen King's a big Ramones fan too. Remember Dee Dee wrote the Pet Sematary song? (and don't make fun of the way I spell "sematary" cos that's what the title is). Anyway, in a couple books he mentions Ramones songs. Stuff your discos...

Fox is the only major network who even refers to classic punk. the Simpsons had the Ramones on and Grounded For Life (Now on WB) did a joke where Joe's daughter threw out a copy of London Calling. Don't forget that Futurama also had an episode with Beck on it and an episode with the Beastie Boys. They're not punk artists by any means but they both are great musicians.

Dude you're right...the only X-Files (also on Fox) I ever saw was the one with Giavanni Ribisi (hot retard guy-why does he always play retards?) who wears a Vandals shirt throughout, has Vandals posters on his bedroom walls, and at the end when he's institutionalized, they play fucking "Live Fast Diarrhea." Oh yeah Jack Black was in it too. Weird. Seeing that Vandals shirt made me watch it, and that Ribisi was in it didn't hurt either, but that's besides the point. That show sucks otherwise... -Janelle

i'm a futurama geek but i can explain the bender-centric thing. fox took the last production run of futurama and aired them way out of order, and unfortunately the last episode of the series is to air next week (the 10th). sad news.

yeah i saw that episode too. hilarious...but on a sad note, next week will be the last original episode on FOX. However, don't cry yet...i read TV guide (my bible) and it's been doing great ratings on adult swim (it's a no brainer i watch that more than seinfeld repeats). Cartoon Network expressed interest on the series might possibly air new episodes. I hope so cuz Futurama is one of those shows that I can't help but watch. Ramo (sorry for the long post, i'm lonely)
