The Special Goodness, side project of Weezer drummer Pat Wilson, has announced via their webpage that they have signed to Epitaph Records. No word on whether they're signed to Epitaph proper or Anti-. Epitaph's made no official statement as of yet, but since we're posting this, they'll probably scramble to release one shortly.

Actually, the only link that works is the Epitaph link. All others - Weezer, The Special Goodness, and the Anti links don't work. Fix it soon so I can check this band out please. THAT GUY (not signed in cause I'm at the school yo) 4+ Replies

Terrible, terrible band. Another example of the death of Epitaph. 2+ Replies

isn't it kinda arrogant to suggest that a behemoth such as epitaph must reply to the every whim (or early post as it were) of punknews.org? cburst 4+ Replies

EPITAPH: Why try and improve your image by signing shitty bands when all you have to do is drop Pennywise. Bro. 2+ Replies

This IS fucking amazing news for the Special Goodness, given the band's relative inactivity. In the 1990's, Pat shopped his band around for awhile with Geffen Records, and then they ultimately passed on it. SG had no major label deal ever since--in fact SG had no record deal ever until 2002-ish or so. Furthermore, Special Goodness hadn't been exactly the most active live band (since Weezer's gotta tour and record), only playing when Weezer goes on hiatus. I say "Good for them"--they really got lucky; not that they aren't a good band in themselves--it's just their particular situation that makes them lucky. As for their music, it's really mellow Weezer and Foo Fighters--a good disc after you played the Strokes for awhile. Hey, Mr. Brett, I suppose you'd probably want to sign the Space Twins next, hmmmm?? 2+ Replies
