Stream A Song by The Network

If you head over to Adeline Records you'll be greeted with a streaming version of The Network's "Supermodel Robots" (once it loads) from their debut CD / DVD Money Money 2020, which was released this past Tuesday.

Who are we not to join in an internet controversy... MTV News has lead the charge in speculating that the album features members of Green Day. That may very well be true as the Devo / PiL / Adam & The Ants inspired band is only identified by silly pseudonyms. Take a listen and decide for yourself.

This would also mean Billie Joe played bass on the album, according to the photos. Unless they were trying to fuck with us even more.

I'm pretty sure it's Green Day(not InAGreenDase) with a keyboardist. And I think the photos are tricky too, if you look, the guitarist is holding his guitar like Billie Joe. (Wow - I sound SO MUCH like a fanboy) I think it's a good way for them to vent their creativeness. What a good band, Green Day that is, I'm not sure about this Network band. It's like Green Day meets Reggie.

I just wanted to put this out there. Just because they are Green Day, there are not supressed as musicians to only play with Green Day. Ever heard of Pinhead Gunpowder or the Frustrators, also compiled of members of Green Day. The Network is The Network, Green Day is Green Day.

What's funny is the song that the brilliant MTV said they could recognize Billy's trademark singing style in... is actually the song that Tre sings on the record. Of all the songs on the CD that they picked to try to sound intelegnt, they picked the one that Billy doesn't sing on. And yes, it's Green Day, and not with a keyboardist. They played all the instraments. They recorded it while in Studio 880 (Oakland) earlier this year when doing Green Day demos. If you haven't heard it, your life is incomplete. One of the best records of the year.

Dude, you're an idiot. There is no way in hell that Tre sings on that song. If you're going to attack a news source, at least be right. Fucking amateur. Having listened to Greenday for 10 years, I can say that if that's not Billie, its one hell of a good imposter. If you think Tre sings on Supermodel Robots, you're high on cat urine.

It is most definitely Green Day. Buy the record and hear the vocals, you can't mistake it. Who did the keyboards, though?

PiL is good, Public Image Ltd., for the kids that don't do any leg work and listen to everything fat/Epitaph/MTV tells them to.

I would hardly lump those three together. Fat isn't exactly force-feeding us their records, to a lesser extent Epitaph isn't.

neither of them are.. fat and epitaph both have a considerable amount of shitty bands.. they might even have practices that piss you off and seem sell-outtish, but the fact is that they are both indie labels. you couldn't run a record label for so long and not get jaded. brett and mike just forgot what good music sounded like a long time ago, yet somehow excluding their own bands from that concept.
