"Hey there fellow armchair revolutionists, CNN has posted their story on punkvoter.com and the impending Rock Against Bush comps. They recently interviewed Fat Mike and it's nice to see the mainstream media starting to recognize the power of an organized group of punk rock kids. I dunno about that three volumes of the Rock Against Bush comp however, that's news to all of us. See the story for yourself."
It might be moot seeing as Diebold (makers of voting machines) is committed to "delivering" votes to the Republicans. Punk Voter (145 comments)

Whoo! P.S.- The voting machine thing is a lot more complicated than that. A lot of the hysteria (at least that's how it comes out here in Berkeley) about the new touch-screen voting machines is based on incomplete information and scary "what if" scenarios. I've actually worked as a polling place supervisor the last 2 elections with the touch screen machines here in Alameda County (i.e. most of the "East Bay"), and the only mistakes/flaws I've seen have been human-based- as in poll workers doing the wrong thing. I DO think that the source code should be open for the voting software, even though that increases the bugs/hacker potential. The concurrent rise in outside evaluation would more then counterbalance the negatives. I could go on, but I won't here right now. Maybe in my next AMP column. Maybe not. 4+ Replies

Great. Some washed up rockstar who looks like an old lady is supposed to represent the youth vote. He must be doing it for the money or something. Wasn't he in Stryper? 2+ Replies

If the point is to register kids to vote and get them aware of the issues, then that's very commendable of Fat Mike. 2+ Replies

Punk is officially bullshit now. I can't believe that so many bands would speak out against our president. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO RESOLVE, PATRIOTISM AND THE GOODNESS OF LOVING AMERICA? I'm sure there are some rational people out here. Let's vote GOP today and in 2004 to kick out the feeble, slanderous Democratic liberals and tell the world that America is fully behind Bush. Don't let the liberal media fool you otherwise. BUSH IN 2004! 16+ Replies

fat mike should just shut his mouth and quit music.. i admit, i own a good 11 or 12 nofx albums, but as far as politics go, this guy's message is incoherent, and poorly structured.. is it so important that he brings up the RAVE act? if he is representing me, or anyone who affiliates themselves with "punk" music, then i look like a fuckin e-tard. like he said, the best thing that happened to punk music is bush's election. that is strictly a subtle way of saying "yay i have something to write songs about rather than vaginas and lesbians." all of these fucking musicians should shut their damn mouths and keep their own profession. bush has not done a thing wrong. if you do your research and ignore the blatant left wing stupidity, you'll realize that capitalism drives the world and that the war on terrorism is really keeping us safe.. imagine if nothing happened. imagine. if you d show rest of comment 25+ Replies

I think Fat Mike is a moron. But at least he's getting people to vote. That, I give him credit for. But... I will not listen to what this idiot says. He's blatantly left. He's admitted it. Why should I listen to someone who's coming out and saying, "Yes. I'm a liberal." Why the fuck should I listen to your biased ass? That applies for both sides, conservative, liberal, democrat, republican, who ever the fuck you are. Fuck all those labels. I don't want to hear your biased bullshit. Think for your fucking selves people. Go out and find facts, do research and find things for yourself instead of listening to this bullshit. 5+ Replies

Ah, rich frat boy kids being die hard republicans, on this site because of their love of frat boy rock. Great. Punk kids are too nice. I got this frat kid out of a Dropkick Murphy's show for making fun of the unseen. It wasn't that I like the Unseen, but like fuck if you're gonna come to my show and make fun of our music because DKM's are mainstream now. When these drunk Abercrombie kids come in the pit at hardcore shows you know what we do? get them the fuck out. Punk rock is left. Punk rock has politics. Fuck this nicey nice shit. Get the fuck out. 3+ Replies

Fat Mike has got to know someone better than brian baker. he's most famous for being the first poser to sellout on his straight edge. I'd rather see fucking beau beau.

should be a good show. i think it will have a positive affect. shows that these bands have a lot more on their minds than just the music and thats cool. i hate those people that are like "its all about the music" | Features
