by Break-ups

After 13 years and 6 albums, indie rock pioneers Sense Field have broken up. Click READ MORE for the band's statement.

This announcement comes on the heels of the band's fall tour with Hey Mercedes, as well as the release of their last album Living Outside [review].

Friends, They say that each new year is a good opportunity to resolve yourself to make changes and we as a band are going into 2004, our 13th year as Sense Field, with the idea that each of us is ready to go off on our own and try different paths in life. In other words, we are putting Sense Field to rest. The decision was not an easy one to make but we feel as if we have done all that we can do as a band. There are no hidden reasons for the split, just good friends who have had fun and enjoyed more success and influence than they thought was ever possible when starting out in our friends garage in Harbor City. We plan to keep our website up for the near future since we know so many of you have become friends through the site. All outstanding merchandise orders are being fulfilled as this is being sent out and the remaining merchandise is online, basically if you ever wanted a Sense Field something, now is the time. We will also be keeping the mailing list intact so we can update you as each of the members go on to other projects. With an overwhelming sense of appreciation, Jon, Chris, Rodney, John and Rob AKA Sense Field
