Satanic Surfers line up changes

us with an update from the tumultuous Satanic Surfers. The band's lineup is heavily in flux, so here's a rundown of what's going on:

Geir from Adhesive was to be the band's new vocalist, however will not be fulling that role due to complications that arose from distance and a full time job. Mathias is no longer playing bass for the band and has moved to Berlin. Rodrigo is back playing drums and vocals, however the band is looking for a new drummer. The group was without a bass player but now band friend Andy is filling that position.

The band has nonetheless been working on new songs. They have the a new record about halfway written and expect to have it released in the fall.

I usually hate the stereotype given to punk bands that "all the songs sound the same" but with this band I must admit.....all their songs sound the same and they're flat out boring!!

they have great lyrics, play early fat wreck style melodic hardcore, and are probably better than half of the bands you like.

and you my friend are a person who don't know a shit about what they are talking about =) tell me the conncetion between "Nun", Superficialities", "silent box" and "The Ballad of Gonzo Babblesit"? they all come from different albums and sound different.. ohh well, im not gonna try and convince people of how good this band is.. if youre still convinced that only the USA can provide good melodic hardcore bands.. too bad.

every swedish skatepunk band back in the 90's did bad religion covers, actually, a tribute to bad religion with like 20 swedish bands was released. like 2-3 of them exists now.

Can't say if they're any good, but I think the Langhorns on Bad Taste are a surf-instrumental band.

Arat Finks, Mr. Gasser & the Weirdos, The Penetrators, Insect Surfers, The Valcanos, Thee Phantom 5ive, The Neptunas, The Trashwomen, The Boardwalkers, and of course Dick Dale!

I liked the last album. And the lineup is hardly in chaos...they've had the same 3 guys for all 5 albums, they just happen to be on their 3rd bassist, and looking for another fill-in drummer.

i like the satanic surfers. they are great at what they do, rodrigo sings well and his drumming is amazing, and their lyrics are intelligent. much better than bigwig.

I've said it before, and I'll continue saying it just because it makes perfect sense... If you've got a pretty well-known band, and that band loses the lead singer--and you still plan on keeping the band going--CHANGE THE FUCKING NAME. -MATEO D'CAY P.S. ESPECIALLY if the lead singer is the main songwriter and/or the band is uniquely known for the disctinct vocals. Geez.

Rodrigo IS the lead singer, main songwriter, sometimes drummer, and frontman. Geir signed on to be the lead singer a few months ago, but has yet to release a song with the band. It's still the Satanic Surfers.

i saw intensity a few months ago togehter with and i really couldn´t believe that rodriges was the same guy i saw playing with satanic surfers a few years back. He didn´t even sing one note, he just screamed through their 20 minute set.
