Ian Horton writes "I am writing to inform the punk community about an obscene abuse of power occuring in my town, Van Buren. Our new principal, Tom Watkins, runs the school as a dictator. My first battle with him was when I dyed my hair blue. I was expelled until I dyed my hair a natural color, and of course I did not conform. I sent e-mail to all my fellow students, contacted local media, and commissioned a lawyer. Through these methods, I was finally allowed to return but with constant oppression due to my political beliefs. Next, I was expelled yet again for my refusal to pay a massive fine for a new picture ID nametag, which we are recquired to wear. When I questioned Mr. Watkins about the reasoning behind it, he could not say any more than "because I said so." This is an obvious legitimate reason, show him this by supporting me in my battle. I know what you mean. The idiot principal here got on my case about my unnatural hair color and the way I dress. Luckily, that simple-minded hick is retirng, but the new guy is supposed to be even more of a hard ass. Oh well, I'm kinda tired of hassling Mr. Squeaky anyhow. I'd kind of like to know what the pricipal's point of view is. Did everyone in school have to pay this fee to get a new picture ID? Or were you singled out for some reason?
