I agree, but it is a real downer. It is excellent if that is what you're lookin' for.

If you like stuff in the Weakerthans / Constantines / Against Me vein of alt-country influenced indie/punk then I'd check them out. Tiger Style Records had a really good track online last I checked. -adam

Try ten years ago. Alt-country had so much buzz and it went nowhere. I really couldn't care less though what's getting popular, although franky anything is better than this emo trend in my opinion. -adam

But everyone needs to be listening to Driveby Truckers... the new gods of southern rock! One of the best live bands I've ever seen too! In fact, their live album, Alabama Whoop Ass, is hard to find but rocks hella. Highly, HIGHLY recommend checking this band out... My personal favorite. But be warned that the hippies are starting to crowd in to see them... It insults me that more people into punk rock aren't all over these guys. Represent, BIATCHES.

Not at ALL... DBT kicks major ass... A buddy of mine raved about Sixer claiming the whole southern twang thang so I got one of their albums and wasn't terribly impressed... they're not bad, but nothing extraordinary. Live they're pretty good... Whiskeytown is another one that seems overrated to me... Ryan Adams is like the goldenboy of Alt Country now... and I just think he ain't so fucking great! For my money Rhett Miller & Old 97s are the shiznit!

Ha..I was thinking exactly the same thing. How he lasted so long in the league is anyone's guess. I think he tried out for the Panthers this year. And I think you mean the former Maple Leaf/Shark/Blue/Red Wing/Coyote/Avalance/Blackhawk defencemen...not including AHL affiliates.

Hey, Todd Gill is one of my all time favorite Blues defensman, right up there next to Charlie Huddy and Libor Zabransky...haha, oh wow, I can't keep a straight face and say that.
