i love the street dogs. this guy leaving drpkicks was their downfall. they have never been the same since and get worse with every album. 7+ Replies

I haven't heard the street dogs yet, but I definitely agree with the above comment. I've only seen DKM twice, once with Mike singing on their tour with the Business and the Forgotten supporting "Do or Die" and once years later with Al Barr singing on their tour with the Bastards and Thug Murder. Mike McColgan's voice is awesome and signature to the band in my opinion. While Al Barr's voice is good, it just doesn't sound like DKM. They also have yet to top "Do or Die". Apparently most people don't care because the band is now larger than life. I wish them continued success.
The thing I can't figure out is why one of the bands that inspired DKM and also allegedly taught Ken Casey to play bass, the mighty $wingin' Ut show rest of comment 3+ Replies

The Street Dogs are awesome. I saw them live and they kicked ass. I also had the opportunity to meet Mike McColgan and he's the nicest guy ever. I informed him he's a legend, and he brushed it off saying he's just a regular guy. He actually introduced himself, like i didn't know who he was. By the way, as far as the Dropkick Murphys go, Do or Die and the Singles Collection are their 2 best releases. It made me mad how much crap they played off Blackout when I last saw them... 1+ Reply

The Street Dogs are a top notch band. Every single song on their CD is good. They are also an awesome live band. It is a shame that they are a not a full time touring band, since Mike is a firefighter. Check them out, buy their shit. www.street-dogs.com 1+ Reply
