i love the street dogs. this guy leaving drpkicks was their downfall. they have never been the same since and get worse with every album.

I love the street dogs too but if Mike McColgan's leaving the Dropkicks was their downfall, why is it that they have only gotten more popular since his departure?

yeah i agree. now we have 2 good bands instead of just one good band. at first i thought mike mccolgan should not of left dropkick but now i think al barr doing lead vocals is great. and ken casey is a good singer too.

Yes, because we all know how popular a band gets is a direct correlation of how good they are.

mainly because Mike left after only one album. DKM have since made many more... so that could be the reason why they've gotten more popular. Mike was only with em for one album, not much of a chance to reach super stardom. BTW, I like Mike in DKM... don't really care for Al, never have not even in the Bruisers.

you must be kidding? dropkicks get worse with every album? dude, get a life, that band means so much, to so many people, including me. you should seriously stop trying to bastardize bands and music just because they change up their sound a bit, or gets popular. ever stop to listen to the meaning of the songs, rather than looking around at who likes them?

I don't think he said anything about how popular they are, or who likes them. You really think that Blackout is better than Do Or Die (or even the other two)? I mean everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but come on.

I'd never say that, Do Or Die is one of the best modern punk albums released in years but to say that the Dropkick Murphys have fallen off the table since Mike left is laughable. Would they have been bigger if he stayed? Most likely, but then again, how many of you actually saw the Dropkicks when Mike was in the band? I'd say 10 percent of you. Its the same arguement people use with The Vandals. Let me save you the trouble of commenting *har har har that band sucks too *har har har.

i saw the dropkick's with mike. mike was awesome. and i got to talk to him after the show and he is such a nice guy.

They may mean something to so many people, but the fact of the matter is, after Mike left, the Murphys got weak.

I haven't heard the street dogs yet, but I definitely agree with the above comment. I've only seen DKM twice, once with Mike singing on their tour with the Business and the Forgotten supporting "Do or Die" and once years later with Al Barr singing on their tour with the Bastards and Thug Murder. Mike McColgan's voice is awesome and signature to the band in my opinion. While Al Barr's voice is good, it just doesn't sound like DKM. They also have yet to top "Do or Die". Apparently most people don't care because the band is now larger than life. I wish them continued success. The thing I can't figure out is why one of the bands that inspired DKM and also allegedly taught Ken Casey to play bass, the mighty $wingin' Ut

I agree that the Utters do not get near the respect they deserve as they are one of my all time favourites. That band is just amazing with their only sort of 'meh' album being the S/T one released a few years ago. I saw them in a club for the first time last fall (max was back on the geetar) with Youth Brigade and they were far better live than on CD. Much more intensity. I still maintain that Streets of SF is one of my favourite CDs ever released. I really wish more people would get into them so they would make a little more money to be able to afford raising their families while touring more often. You can't really knock the DKMs on the singer thing. I think Mike was a great singer for that style of music and it shows with the Street Dogs disc. Al Barr is also a great singer as well. I think the songs were just better on Do or Die t

You have to hand it to them for picking up the singer of a relatively unknown east coast punk band (the Bruisers) and making a huge career for themselves over the years. The Street Dogs are awesome. I saw them live and they kicked ass. I also had the opportunity to meet Mike McColgan and he's the nicest guy ever. I informed him he's a legend, and he brushed it off saying he's just a regular guy. He actually introduced himself, like i didn't know who he was. By the way, as far as the Dropkick Murphys go, Do or Die and the Singles Collection are their 2 best releases. It made me mad how much crap they played off Blackout when I last saw them...

The Street Dogs are a top notch band. Every single song on their CD is good. They are also an awesome live band. It is a shame that they are a not a full time touring band, since Mike is a firefighter. Check them out, buy their shit. www.street-dogs.com

the 7 inches are in and the CD's will be in on Tuesday 2/17. we will be shipping all orders then!
