Sullen calls it quits

Sullen played their last show yesterday night. Shanna Kiel left a message on the band's website "Thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has been there along the way.... This is very sad for me... Thanks & Sorry." There's no word on why the band is splitting. Sullen released a single LP, Paint The Moon [review], on Thick Records last year.

I have never heard of them. If they sounded anything like the majority of bands today, I'm glad they broke up. If they sounded like Nipon... they should get back together.

They were a decent band led by a girl lead singer. A few years ago they played a show in my hometown of Quincy Illinois to about 10 people and at the end of their set they threw water all over their equipment. They toured a lot with Local H, and their singer is responsible for the excellent female vocals on "5th Avenue Crazy".
