Tours: Mick Jones / Tony James project on the road in the UK

NME is reporting that Clash guitarist Mick Jones and Generation X bassist Tony James will be touring in the UK this May. The duo will perform under the name Carbon/Silicon, a group they formed in 2002 that's been behind a number of of electronic mixes built on classic rock samples, including riffs from the Who and the Rolling Stones. Some demo material is online at Planet BAD.

UK Dates:

May 11 - Colchester Arts Centre
May 12 - Milton Keynes Pitz
May 13 - Oxford Zodiac
May 14 - Gloucester Guildhall

By "they say" you mean, "Adam says"... that's just my quick impression from what I heard on the linked website. The NME article says its like "the Rolling Stones jamming with a laptop" -adam

I went ahead and went the extra mile and actually downloaded a song. It's pretty good except for Tony sings on half...I mean it's a demo so maybe it'll be better but he sucks as a singer. But Mick is still on point. He really makes the song. The song I downloaded made use of Rolling Stones and Slade samples

I actually saw about 3 B.A.D. LPs in a used record store the other day, and almost bought them for about 3 dollars each, but I didn't want to ruin my heavenly image of the Clash. Looked like Milli Vanilli with Mick Jones.

I heard the 4 demos of carbon and silicon, but only one of those songs were pretty good but for the moment, because it's only demo........ I am still an urge fan of Clash and BAD and it's damn good to have a new ex clash making music and concerts afther Joe died. I hope there will be able to came in France one day. But now men we are very far from the Original Punk music this the 21th century

Hi there, old punks. This is the first time i have been on your forum and i just wanted to say that your perception of this band i.e. CARBON SILICON is all wrong. Yeah they are not the CLASH or SSS but this is not the 1970 / 80's. At least one of you have already highlighted...... Mick Jones has always been away ahead of his time and is still ahead of the time with this band and as for TONY JAMES ...... oh my god!!!! Until recently, although i had heard of SSS, i was never that interested, but on supporting this band (Carbon/silicon) all over the country for the last 2 years, i have realised the man is nothing short of a genius. He is able to see forward in relation to music production like no other person has recently and is able to link great tunes with a dynamic show on stage. In addition to this, the band has allowed, no encouraged their fans to down

You people are idiots..Mick Jones WAS The Clash, and BAD was way ahead of it's time and they rocked too. I was at their first show at the Town and Country, so I know. My band opened for Joe's "after Mick Clash", and they really sucked. As much as I love Joe, Mick has always been the first to take your pedestrian boring punk cliches and turn them into something special. On top of that, Generation X was the shit..... as was Tony James, 'cept for the Sputnik nonsense!
