We entered presto recording studios mid-July 2003 to begin work on what was supposed to become our second full-length album. Although as many as 14 ideas in varying states of developement were committed to tape, not one of them has emerged in a completed form since that time. In fact, very little has happened to further any of the material's progress. It saddens me to announce that the five of us are no longer working together on this music, nor do we have any plans to do so in the near future.
It may be best said that our band is in a state of "indefinate hiatus". Although this status is not intended to convey the idea of a permanant split, it is true that we are no longer working, or ever thinking about the completion of any musical endeavors.
Obviously, we are not playing any shows in the near future. Should a musical appearance by any of us occur, it will be listed on the DATES page.
For the nostalgic, here was the setlist from our last performance sometime last november, 2003.
i was born in omaha
grace, the snow is here
the overpass
good morning, providence
ascension dream
the boy done wrong again (written by belle and sebastian)
the immovable motorist
cinema air
a bye
Hope this message finds everyone in good health. Enjoy your summer.

Sandwich, anyone? I think it's pretty lame to break up in the middle of recording and not finish the album...not that I would have bought it anyways. Oh yeah, after the whole ATDI fiasco no one is falling for that "indefinate hiatus" bullshit...

This is a shame because 'Start Here' was a great record and i was looking forward to what they were going to do next.

I remember seeing them at the Cactus club in Milwaukee w/ Antarctica and Camden a few years ago. It was the 2nd guitarists birthday (Brian, I think was his name?), and Antarctica encouraged everyone to buy him a beer during their set. I found out while briefly speaking to him after the show that everyone, in fact, did buy him a beer. Good times. And a good band, too. Thanks for the music, guys.

These guys are good, werent they old Mineral. It seems like they never toured or put much new stuff out. Start Here seems like it was like 5 years ago, but it was probably just yesterday.

I saw them on their last tour twice --- in NY and CT. I recorded both shows...

oh my god. i am so sad. but what makes me even MORE sad, is i cant find the lyrics to their song "ambulance" off start here (one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE ALBUMS). i've searched everywhere for them, and everywhere i look, there is about a paragraph missing. i looked at those lyrics a few times on the official website and i KNOW that paragraph exists! but the official website is down. if ANYONE knows the real lyrics, the ones that were on the site, could you PLEASE email them to me? battleangel101@hotmail.com or if anyone knows HOW i could get those, i'd give my boobs for them. thanks all. |

"Grace, The Snow Is Here?" Wow. I wish I would've gotten to see them play that live. They had pretty much stopped playing their early Crank! 7"/EP stuff altogether. Actually, come to think of it, I never got to see this band live at all. I was supposed to a few years ago in Iowa City when they came through with Her Space Holiday, but it was a Sunday night and I didn't feel like travelling. Dammit. -Scott
