Whole Wheat Bread on the road and in the studio

Jacksonville, FL's Whole Wheat Bread is currently on tour supporting the Suicide Girls Live Burlesque Show. Immediately following that tour the young black pop-punk act will enter the studio to record their debut full length with producer Darian Rundall (Pennywise, Yellowcard, Strung Out). The album will be released in the early fall on independent label Fighting Records.

i saw them a few times in jacksonville. they are fun live, but they sound kinda average. (granted, that was like 2 years ago, so they may have developed).

I have an idea! Let's put girls who aren't attractive enough to make money as actual models or even in most pornos, put some cliche fashions on them, make them look dangerous or snarl their lips, and market it them to the burgeoning punk audience~!!~!!~!~ And it works. I need to get on the ball here. My concept: Punk Flintstones. Dino now wears a leather studded jacket and won't stand for Fred or Wilma treating him like an animal. He also votes Democratic, bitches.

In one year sg girls are never heard of again. Wwb is the best band on earth. Not now one year, i promise as long as bush is outta white house these guys are the opposite of the beastie boys. When bbs were cool. Im not lyin. Saw them in oklahoma city and these demos floatin around are nothin this band is unbelievable. Black white blue yellow red orange this is the shit. These guys are the shit trust me if u dont go to a show.

I was considering leaving it out when I was writing the article, however the press release even had "black" in the headline... so obviously it's something the label's looking to point out. -adam

I'm with the label... we're pointing it out because it is unique. The only other black punk band I've ever known about it is Bad Brains. I am sure there have been others. Also, the band is proud of the fact that they are a black group playing in a predominately white genre and why shouldn't they be?

wow. i cant say i think the music is all that groundbreaking (not that its bad, i do like it) but damn that is cool that these are guys are doing this. look at their photos on thier site if anybody told me this is a pop-punk group no fucking way would i believe it. anyways rock on fellas.

Those mp3s on their site are incredibly horrid. I'll give props for their attempt at trying a genre in which they're the understated minority, but they sound like a dumbed-down version of Simple Plan, which is, well...yeah...

c'mon inagreendase... simple plan? go see these guys live and tell me they're aren't the real deal. you're basing your opinion on 2 demos. they haven't even recorded their album yet.
