You can see his whole comment on the band's website, including generous use of the work "douche." The band also announced that their song on the second volume of the Rock Against Bush compilation will be titled "Necrotism: Decanting the Insalubrious (cyborg midnight) Part 7." Brendan says it sounds like "AFI and Coheed and Cambria playing Dungeons and Dragons together (with just a hint of ska)." I suggest you take that with a grain of salt.Speaking of politics...Ed Helms interviewed me last week for a feature on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" about conservative punks. I think that it turned out pretty well, even though I think I might have been a little harsh. Those conservative punks really drive me nuts though. Pick up the new AP and read how Nick Rizzuto, founder of conservativepunk.com lists the DECEASED (!) Stiv Bators of the Dead Boys as one of their "team members" (okay, you can't just assume that a dead person would be down with your organization because of the general politics that they had when they were alive. By this logic, they could also list Nixon, Pontius Pilate and Sonny fucking Bono)...

Brendan Kelly from The Lawrence Arms will be on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this week. The episode featuring him may air as early as tonight (Tuesday). Here's a bit of his update from the band's website:

"I'm a little nervous, because they really make everyone look a little like a douche on that show, but I have confidence that team conservative punk will significantly and gloriously out douche me" That has to be my favorite part of what he wrote.

Brendan is really overlooked as quite the eloquent person. Even when playing while dead drunk. Can't wait to see this. 2+ Replies

Brendan never ceases to amaze me. Of course, the word "douche" can only get better if you add the word "bag". Though I wished Stephen Colbert interviewed him. Then it'll definietly be a powerhouse of a story (not that it already is one). Ramo 1+ Reply

Brendan is one of the dumbest punkers ever. Punkvoter should drop him and his awful band. He makes them look bad. Have you ever read his "essay" (more of an unintelligent rambling) on punkvoter.com where he calls all Americans "a complete gaggle of retards"?? Nice one Bren. 6+ Replies

Best news I've heard in a while! The description of the new song is hilarious, even though none of it is true, including the 'hint of ska' part. And the word douche is a good word, no matter what. Anyone remember the Daily Show episode when Rob Corddry (I believe) was doing a report on Hollywood actors and their political opinions? Then he suggested having a song against Hollywood, much like the 'superstar' song against AIDS? Hilarious! 'Celebrities shut up... Celebrities shut up... Celebrities shut up, Stop being such a douche bag.' CrankWillDestroy

Oh my god, have you hear the news, Iraq did have weapons of mass destruction. Conservative punk and the incompatent UN says so. Thank god we brutally attacked them or we would've been bombed by now. The've found out that they did have the weapons, but they were all shipped out before and after the war. Hold on, after the war? How did Saddam managed that when he was in a hole. Maybe Osama Bin Laden did it for him. And how did he get past the soildiers at every airport and port. You would have tough a unauthorized plane or boat and even trucks would have been investigated. Funny how it never says how they get the information, and we just assume its from satalite pictures, or old trade logs left carlessly lying around. Anyway, get the full scoop (*Cough* Bullshit) at conservativepunk.com 2+ Replies

I don't think americans are getting dumber per se. I think it's just that the way education is structured now, nobody really gets a fully well-rounded education. So the people who go to college are specializing in only one thing, and that's all they'll ever know about. 2+ Replies
