I've seen the Lawrence arms live like 7 times, and every time Brendan seems to spout out one sided political commentary. I love the Lawrence arms, and Micheal Graves doesn't seem like the smartest guy in the world, but from what i've heard Brendan say live and from what i've read of him, it doesn't seem like the interview was edited much. I also am basing this on seeing the man on stage drunk, so i might sound just as one sided as i'm making him out to be. Oh well, the segment was still funny as hell.

Almost funnier than that Daily Show bit is that some of you actually think Graves is right. We ALL know that the 3 republican punks in the world are on here posting like there's an army of you. So the opposite of left is . . . right? Wow, I never would have figured that out with only my lower genius. You, my friend, must be some sort of philosopher thingy. If the purpose of punk is to go against the status quo (as I keep hearing it said in these conservative punk debates), then does it matter what the status quo is? Is the punk scene going to dissolve if Kerry gets into office and is much better than Bush? Now, what I was trying to say, which you apparently didn't get because you're way too smart for me to communicate effectively with, is that why should anyone accept the status quo in the punk scene of "you have to be liberal or you're an idiot," if the punk scene in and of itself stands for rebelling against those sorts of things. Yes, that would make you swing back to the right (the opposite of left), but do the ends matter if all you're trying to do is keep things constantly changing? It can only go so far in one direction before it has to swing back. How can you function as a punk if you have to fight against conservatism in the country AND liberalism in your scene since, going by the definition that so many people on this site use, you have to? Now, I'm sure you're in college, and you know everything about the world, but here's a couple of free tips: Trying to disprove my argument with something that I will freely admit doesn't actually disprove anything and is not an effective way to debate. Also, the little jabs at me at the end are called ad hominem statements, and they're a sure sign of an amateur debater.

Ok, i'm gonna be the first to complain about the show itself. Whats the point of having a laugh track in the background, real or not, if the laughs sound forced and pretty pathetic. I didn't like the commentators voice, it was far too jokey for me, it sounded like one of those voices on funnest animals or whatever. Ed Helms was a bit loud at points, but did seem quite eloquent in some of his questions. As far as i could see, the only really funny thing was the graph, the lyrics when michale was singing and the country club. Oh, and the tattoo thing. Really over-rated. I thought that I was one of the few Alan Partridge fans in the US. Even when Steve Coogan was in Coffee and Cigarettes, he, towards, the end, sort of went into the Alan Partridge character.

Since the DVDs aren't available in the US, I downloaded a bunch of the Alan Partridge series along with Knowing Me Knowing You and Coogans Run. Few comedians can make me laugh outloud on a regular basis...

I actually scored DVD rips so I have the complete 1st season of Knowing Me Knowing You (including the christmas episode) and the first 2 seasons of I'm Alan Partridge. Where there any more series of either of those shows? Then, I have a few random episodes of Coogan's Run. However, I've never heard of The Day Today until today.

No, you've got all the knowing mes and i'm alans. God there good. The day todays got partridge as a sports commentator. I'll tell you it all actually. The anchor on the day today is called chris morris, he was in series 1, episode 3 of i'm alan.. and played the farmer who alan argued with. Hes also done Brasseye, another news type show(try and find the peohdophile special), jaaam and jam, which were both quite disturbing. Another of the characters, rebecca front, played the host of the religious chat show in the last episode of series 2. Another character, David Schneider played Tony Hare in series 1. Another character, Doon Mackichan played alan fake wife in episode 3 of series 1. The drug addict he argues with in 2,6 is called Julia Davies i believe, and had here own comedy show called nighty night, and also made a cameo in coogans parole officer movie, with simon pegg, who was in the hilarious spaced and that zombie spoof movie, shawn of the dead. Both the day today and the partridge shows were directed by Armando Iannucci, who is a genius and had hi own comedy shoe, bearing his name. Graham Lineman apeared in 1,5 as one of the irsh people and writes for great shows like farther ted, Brasseye(Also Chris Morris), Black books, Jaaaam and jam(Both with Chirs Morris). patrick marber played a reporter in the day today, and appeared in and helped write knowing me, knowing you, with most of the people above helping with that too. All these people were involved with the day today and alan partridge. Sorry for the awful grammer and i hope this helps
