Our fellow n'ere-do-wells at AMP have put their new issue online. Here's the details: "New issue of AMP Magazine is up online. For the first time they are running part of their last 2 retail issue cover stories on the web page, which are NOFX and Bad Religion. Other stories include Velvet Revolver (Slash!), Audio Karate, Autopilot Off, Something Corporate, Brain, Reggie & The Full Effect, Killswitch Engage, and much much more. All the regular columnists, and tons of record reviews."

I hate it when I read a really good article and then they have the very same one two months later in a different issue, instead of putting newer shit in......that's really the only flaw....that, and the music reviews are short and weak....not to mention, the news section in every issude is like months behind anything else

That must mean you8 are getting the California edition as well. That's the only place they re-run it. I live in Jersey, so I only get the Retail one, so I'm glad they re-run it. News seems as up to date as a bi-moonthly magazine can be as well.

Yeah, I read the Bad Religion article when Epitaph posted it on their front page. I think that and Aubins are by far the best pieces I have ever seen on them. Great issue of AMP other-wise too.

"they will probably reinstate the draft because people are quitting the military right and left" fat mike needs some better research....the draft was proposed by a democrat originally to discourage the war. i'm guessing that it has been repeatedly coming up since out of necessity but a democrat was responsible for bringing it back on the floor. i'm against bush.........but get your shit straight man.

what was he making up again? there are tons of articles about a number of politicians trying to restate the draft. the bush group is all about reinstating the draft, but they can't say it outloud, cuz it'd blow the re-election. i'm not sure you're getting all of the information.

Yeah, AMP does that all the time. I thought that was the most impressive thing about their first issue- there was an interview done by Fat Mike, and an interview done by Hunter of AFI. That's a pretty cool way to come out of the gates, and quite cool to read.

Brett Matthews seemed to be doing a good thing with Hitlist, but AMP is nothing more than a big "advertorial." Companies obviously pay to have their artist on the comp cd, get prominent advertising space, and surprise! either a glowing review, or a weak interview. What shills. It is so obvious. Notice they don't even have a letters section so they don't have to face the heat for being just a big corporate Ad campaign. And now that PunkNews.org is in their pocket...

Uhm... we don't have letters section so we don't have to deal with idiots like you who obviously have no idea what they are talking about. Yeah, we should put peoples bands on the comp for free, and just shell out 10-15 grand per issue out of our pockets, huh? Good thingking. And as far as glowing reviews, you obviously haven't read our pages. Bands get ripped apart in there. The people doing the reviews have no idea who is on the comps, or who is advertising, so they could be no way influenced by such things. And I knbow for a fact that Brett will tell you that way more good things are happening with AMP that n with Hit List as far as heping the scene and bands goes. Whatever.... it's 5:30 AM, I'm wasted, you're an idiot.... I'm going to bed. Scooter AMP

$2 for at around 100-150 pages of news.interviews and reviews, up to 4 free cds, generally stickers,pins and sometimes other things, and your moaning about adverts? I'd like to see you manage to organise something as good as AMP, i mean, how the fuck do you think they cover costs as big as that. Sure some interviews aren't great, but some are great, like that leatherface one in this months, or the huge NOFX and Bad Religion ones. No letters section? Who wants to read what a bunch of dicks who actually write in to magazines to complain about pathetic little details, like 'you spelled this word wrong', or 'i disagree with you' or crap like that. Why don't you think about why people do things before you come out with crappy little comments like this.
