Frank Kerr, better known to fans as Frankie Venom, the lead singer of veteran Hamilton, Ontario punk band Teenage Head, has passed away. Kerr died of cancer on October 15th, he was 51. Guitarist Gord Lewis made the announcement earlier today through the band's label Sonic Unyon. Kerr helped form the band in 1975 when its members were still in high school, making them one of the earliest punk bands in Canada and winning them the title of "Canada's Ramones." The group released their self-titled debut in 1979, breaking through with the album Frantic City in 1980.
Teenage Head most recently teamed up with Ramones drummer Marky Ramone to record an album of the band's classics. It was released this past April. Earlier today it was announced that the band would be the recipients of a lifetime achievement award at next month's Hamilton Music Awards.
Our deepest condolences go out to Frankie's family, friends and fans.

With their 20th anniversary just behind them, Bouncing Souls, will be heading down to The Fest to play a birthday show that is guaranteed to please older fans (as well as long time fans). For their set, the band is promising to only play songs from 1995 and earlier, which means songs from Maniacal Laughter and The Good, the Bad, and the Argyle.
Punknews interviewer Ronnie Raffaniello recently spoke with Bouncing Souls vocalist Greg Attonito. Read it and get psyched.

Good Clean Fun have posted a trailer for their upcoming indie film, Good Clean Fun: The Movie. The movie is about a college student trying to get the most popular band in the world, The Goodcleanfuns, to play her college in the middle of trying to support herself as well as work through her love problems.
The next record will be a little softer. I'm interested in writing a very different type of record next time. I feel like there's a lot of beauty in the darkness of Narrow Stairs, but that's not really a place I'm ready to go to for a while. I'm interested in taking a different approach and having the next record be different in tone -- I'm just not interested in making another dark, dark album. Just not two in a row. I felt pretty exhausted when we got done with Stairs.
