Portugal. The Man discusses Sarah Palin in new interview

News

Portugal. The Man's recent commentary on vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin has spawned a lengthier article with Los Angeles' Metromix where the band further commented on the governor and former Wasilla mayor:

What is it about her that you don’t like? Just everything that she represents. When she came into office, they made this big deal out of her firing all the corrupt people. So who gets the jobs that were just all opened up? It ends up, it’s all people from her church. They get the jobs at the hospital and they get abortion out of the hospital; [they] pretty much enforced their own rules. I’ll always be the first to say: we’re not a political band. We’re not into voicing opinions on things like this. It’s just—that’s our hometown.

You can find the interview here.

Videos: F*cked Up: "Twice Born"

Matador Records

Fucked UpToronto, ON's Fucked Up recently stopped by MTV Canada's MTV Live for a performance taped in the bathroom. The song was "Twice Born," from their new album The Chemistry of Common Life that came out October 7, 2008. The station also blogged the incident and posted some pictures.

The bathroom, it seems, did not survive the performance. Host of the show Daryn Jones had this to say:

We figured that having them perform in the bathroom would look cool.

Cool indeed. You can click here for a rundown of the chaos, or you can click Read More for the video.
