Your Rating:About:Blue Monday is a hardcore band from Vancouver BC Canada, their approach is straightforward and stripped-down. Taking influence from early 80's hardcore as well as mid-nineties "youth crew", the band has a sound that's neither retro nor paint by the numbers. Formed in late 2001, the band wasted no time breaking out of their isolated corner of North America. Within the first few months of their existence Blue Monday had released an 8 song demo and done their first of many west coast tours. Late 2002 saw the release of their debut 7', "War Wounds", on For The Core records.
The "War Wounds" 7' was well received, and the word started to spread, ultimately bringing Blue Monday to the attention of Boston's Perfect Victim Records. Blue Monday went into the studio with Jesse Gander once again in April 2003 and recorded 7 new songs which would become the "What's Done is Done" EP released by Perfect Victim in summer 2003." In 2005 Blue Monday released the well recieved LP entitled Rewritten and in 2006 recorded a split with fellow Canadians, Go It Alone. Related BandsReviews |
