Some people have referred to Boxingwater as one of the pioneering melodic hardcore bands in the northeast, and i'm sure there's a handful of bands out there today who hold them as an influence. The truth is, they were just a band of good friends who liked getting fucked up and making a hell of a racket. The band was known in the local scene for putting on some of the only punk shows in the area. While the guys only did one national tour, Boxingwater was known to play a lot in the Northeast and on the East Coast. The band broke up in 2004 and their members went on to form bands like Landmines, Tomorrow the Gallows, Attackula, etc...
