Brandtson formed in 1996 in Cleveland, Ohio. The band spent most of their career on indie label Deep Elm, releasing six discs in total (including their Letterbox launch in 1998 and a split with seminal artists Camber and Seven Storey Mountain in 2002)
In January of 2004, the band moved to The Militia Group.
