The first listening, first title, first slap! “Arrested” resembles to mistake there with a tube hardcore come from fine melt of the Eighties, so much and so that one wonders actually it is not a question oneself of a resumption of a mythical group such Circle Jerks. But “Arrested” is indeed the work of Government Warning, piece hyper inspired and removed, synthesizing the ardour of Circle Jerks, the rage of Ramones and with dimensions the catchy of Sham 69. Three other titles, more furious and fast follow, in the vein of the first album of Bad Brains (one will notice in the passing that Kenny has beautiful intonations to the H.R.) and also evoking Minor Threat or Scream. And in this register, Government Warning ensures also extraordinarily, which gives birth to an irrepressible desire to take again in chorus the refrains and to join the song hooker of Kenny. The sound is rough, without arrangements nor ornaments, conferring on the music of Government Warning a monstrous authenticity, spontaneousness and an energy. An instinctive hardcore, finding the taste of the urgency, very marked by the fury of punk and the spirit of the original hardcore. This hardcore direct and savage who seems to currently know a kind of revival thanks to the rising wave of groups such Career Suicide, Terminal State, Fucked Up! , Tached Out, Junkies Formaldehyde or Life Trap. Arrested comprises four titles of a force and a total effectiveness which brings back for us to most beautiful years hardcore of the eighties. Ca feels sweat, the divine training course, the fury and the heat of the small clubs. A notch with the top of No Moderation seems it, and thus to listen urgently, without any moderation.
