Sam Beam started recording his songs on a four track in 1999 in Miami, Florida. Since then, the cinematography professor has gained worldwide notoriety, especially after the inclusion of his cover of the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights." Most recently, the bearded troubadour recorded a joint album with Calexico, his first effort with a backing band.
