Think about it though, how can you dislike Jesus? You can dislike his followers for being self-righteous hippocrites, but how can you dislike Jesus, who spent his life reaching out to those who no one wanted to have anything to do with, and taught a message of tolerance. I, personally think Jesus kicks ass, but most churches and instituions that claimn to operate on the teachings of Jesus, are doing completely the opposite!

Also, if anyone is interested there is a great book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel it discusses Jesus' existence as a man, and breaks down the claims he made, basically two conclusions can be made 1. Jesus was a madman who honeslty believed he was the son of god. or 2.jesus spoke the truth, the book acutally leaves it to reader interpretation and gives academic research as support rather than the "faith" hogwash that churches try to force feed patrons.

i'm not saying anything bad about christianity itself, but i believe church is influencing peopel to believe and contribute to the church for wrong reasons. i've been a church-goer for about a good 6-7 years. i never really understood why they dimmed the lights to sing and why we kept singing the same songs over and over or why the minister kept talking about what would happen if judgement day came and we were not baptized. they told me i could have faith in God and be a good citizen but without dunking my head in the pool in front of the entire church, i would be going straight to hell to be tortured. The church even uses mob rule to get people to convert. for example, the beginning of every month everyone takes a pieces of bread and some wine as a symbol of the body and blood of Christ..well, everyone except those who have not been baptized. i remember feeling embarassed... like back in elementary school where everyone had the coolest new toy except you. and what do you do? go ask your parents to buy it for you. the point where i decided enough is enough was when i went up in the mountains for a retreat with the church. i remember going on a retreat a few years back. it was about 8 + hours of sermons a day for 3 days. at night, when it got dark, we sang a song that repeated about 3 lines ( something along the lines of we can only be saved through jesus) over and over for over a hour. during that period we had to keep our eyes closed and "listen to the lords calling" the youth group leader (the singer) kept saying "feel jesus' presence and come on up" in a soft almost whispering voice, over soft guitar riffs that repeated along with the repetition of those 3 lines i mentioned. on top of
