The rest of the dinner was smooth. It turns out Aaron's parents knew about it even before my parents knew about it. They were totally cool with it too. I feel stupid about worrying so much before.
We arrived home and my parents went to the Gillespie's to have some coffee. I just stayed outside in my backyard with Aaron, on the little hill. We looked up at the sky, it was clear and we could see clouds coming in.
I looked over at Aaron, his pale skin gleaming in the moonlight.
"Im so glad our parents are okay with everything." He tells me with a smile. I nod and roll on to my side to face Aaron.
"I called Sara, she admitted that she talked to your parents about it."
"Really? Why did she do it?"
"Cause she believed in us and wanted everything to work out. She really is a nice girl."
Aaron laughs, "And to think I used to have my doubts about her."
Then I felt a drop of rain on my skin, "I think its starting to rain." I obviously stated.
"Should we go in?" Aaron asked.
"Hmmm...in a minute!" I said with a chuckle as I lean in and kiss him on the mouth. We kissed for 15 minutes in the pouring rain, in my backyard. In the corner of my eye I thought I saw our parents peeking out at us and smiling.
"Aaron, they are watching us." I tell him. He grins and tossles his hair a bit.
"Like I care." He says as we start to kiss again.
"All I care about is you my Spee bear."
"I love you Aaron." I say in between kisses.
He stopped for a moment and cries a bit, still with a smile. You can barely see the tears because it was raining.
"All of this was worth waiting for. All the pain and uncertainty was worth you telling me you love me. And know what Spee?"
"What?"
"I love you."
